Tuesday Night Indie Spotlight Ep. 68: Victor Vran | PS4 Co-Op Gameplay
Tuesday night is indie night! This week, I (@piccolo930) was joined by my partner-in-crime, Brent (@TheDude1979), as we fired up developer Haemimont Games' gothic action-RPG, Victor Vran, for some high-octane cooperative demon-slaying!
Brent and I both had high expectations going into this week's Indie Spotlight featuring Victor Vran. The game has been well-recieved on other platforms and the early word was that the PlayStation version is an excellent port of the game. After spending a few hours with the title, we both agree that not only is Victor Vran an excellent take on the action-RPG genre popularized by games like Diablo, it met and far exceeded the lofty expectations we had for the game going in. This game is awesome. The performance is buttery smooth (frame rate is locked at 60fps), combat is fast-paced and fun, and the RPG elements are well-implemented. Loot is constantly dropping, and the game's "Destiny Card" system adds a nice layer of strategy when choosing which perks to assign to your character. Brent and I were also big fans of the in-game objectives presented to you in each area. There are special tasks in each area of the map the game challenges you to complete, and it keeps everything feeling fresh as you're constantly switching up weapons and tactics to finish the objectives and earn the rewards associated with them. Secret chests are spread around each of the maps as well, and we had a blast trying to find them all. Overall, I can't wait to play more of Victor Vran, and I'm looking forward to seeing the game through to its end cooperatively. If you're a fan of Diablo, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, or the like, give Victor Vran a whirl. You'll love it. If you've yet to check out Victor Vran for yourself, take a look at the video below and see what it's all about!
