Short Pause Gaming Podcast #143: PUBG Xbox Impressions, Destiny 2 Changes, & Our Favorite Games of 2017

It's our final podcast of 2017! It's been a heck of a year for both gaming as a whole and the podcast itself, but it's time to wrap up 2017 and get ready for 2018! Join Brent, Ben, Bender, and Frankie as they once again get together to discuss the latest and greatest in the world of gaming and wrap up the year in style. The fellas also chime in with some of their favorite games of 2017! Topics this week include:

  • PUBG Impressions - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds hit Xbox One this past week, and console gamers can finally see what all the fuss was about. Just how poor is PUBG's condition on the Xbox One as we sit here today? Also, PUBG hits 1 million players on Xbox One within 48 hours!
  • Destiny 2 Changes - On the back of fan feedback regarding some of the changes introduced with Curse of Osiris, Bungie has addressed some of the players' concerns in Destiny 2's latest update, including adjusting requirements for the game's Prestige Raid, Trials of the Nine, and Iron Banner endgame activities, once again opening them up to all players regardless of whether or not they own the game's DLC. The developer also outlined how they plan to update the game in the future and keep all activities relevant throughout the life of the title. Is Bungie on the right track with this update plan?
  • Burnout Paradise Remastered Rated - The Brazilian Ratings Board struck again this past week, outing a listing for Burnout Paradise Remastered on the PS4 and Xbox One. Is this still unannounced title as good as confirmed at this point?
  • Street Fighter Announcements - A pair of big time announcements coming out of this year's Capcom Cup Finals has fighting fans juiced! Street Fighter V's 3rd season of DLC content was announced, set to arrive alongside the game's Arcade Edition update on January 16, while the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection was announced for May 2018, bundling together 12 Street Fighter games from throughout the game's history. With Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, will Capcom finally have the definitive version of Street Fighter V that fans have wanted from the very beginning?
  • November's NPD Results - November's NPD results are in, and it was a huge month for the gaming industry. Call of Duty: WWII had an enormous debut, easily taking the top spot in the software charts, while the PS4 regained its spot as the top-selling console for the month of November. With Star Wars Battlefront II charting at number 2, was the controversy surrounding the game's microtransactions overblown?
  • Devil May Cry HD Collection Coming to Current-Gen Consoles and PC - PS4, Xbox One, and PC will all see a version of Devil May Cry HD Collection in March of next year, bringing the first three games in the lauded series to current gen gamers in all of their high-octane, 60fps action glory. With this release, does this make it even more likely that we see a Devil May Cry 5 announcement sometime next year?
  • Our Favorite Games of 2017 - It's been an historic year for gaming, and the guys chime in with some of their favorite titles from throughout 2017. Did your favorite game make the list?
