Prince Schwan? Not My Prince!

Prince Schwan? Not My Prince!

Prince Schwan is a horrible leader. Although he is the heir to the Dowa throne, he's naive, spoiled, and has no problem murdering innocent people to maintain his power.

It was also Schwan's intent to disband the ACCA (the current government order) even though ACCA is responsible for keeping the peace and order in the 13 territories.

When ACCA and the prince spoke before the gathered people, Schwan showed that he didn't care for anyone but himself. He asked one of his royal servants about the speaking order, then said, "I don't care what follows," referring to everything after his speech.

Schwan approached the podium, and the crowd was against him. They were quick to voice their displeasure.

Disband the ACCA? The prince isn’t thinking about the nation.
If one like that is king, there will be war.
I’m against his ascension.

This was the perfect opportunity for the ACCA to remove Schwan from power. They had him surrounded with guns and could have killed him or forced him to renounce his claim.

But they didn't.

Instead, ACCA gave the prince their support and recommended ways for him to better protect himself.

This scene was a major disappointment in the anime. Preserving the prince went against the wishes of the people, and everything the plot was leading up to.
