Happy Birthday, Short Pause Gaming Podcast!
A Thank You to Our Fans
On behalf of everyone here at Short Pause, I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s taken time out of their daily lives to listen to one of our podcasts over the last two years.
It’s humbling to see what we’ve accomplished after 74 episodes. We’ve had over 15,000 listens, our podcast has reached more than 100 different countries, and we continue to bring in and hear from new fans each and every week. When we first started this show (Brent, myself, and our good buddy, fellow podcast co-founder and all-around swell guy, Eric Jordan), we didn’t think much about where this endeavor might take us at the time. We were just a few guys who loved video games, getting together and talking about our favorite hobby. I don’t think any of us (including Brent and I) thought we’d eventually be doing a successful weekly podcast that people genuinely care about.
I still remember talking with Brent about making the podcast a weekly show. After Eric’s departure, the show was basically meandering for weeks. We weren’t on any type of schedule, and we got together whenever the time or inspiration struck us. At some point, we decided our show had the potential to be something really special, and we decided to start producing a weekly show that a steady audience could get behind. Over the course of eight or nine weeks, we realized that, not only can we produce a weekly podcast, we can produce a damn good weekly podcast. While the show was maturing and getting better every week, we really hit our stride when Bender and Frankie joined the show and we formed the quality quartet you listen to each and every week today. We can’t thank those guys enough for being crazy enough to take this leap of faith with us. This podcast is a byproduct of all our hard work over the last two years, and we certainly wouldn’t be where we are today without Bender and Frankie lending their personality and expertise to the show on a regular basis.
It’s been a hell of a ride, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here. We’ve got some exciting plans for now and into the future, and I’m pumped to continue to improve our show and build our audience. Once again, thank you to all of our listeners and fans. You’re the reason we do this show every week and your support keeps us motivated and inspired. As I raise my metaphorical glass of champagne, here’s to the next two years; may they be as fun, rewarding, and educational as the last two.
