Short Pause Gaming Podcast #63: First Gears of War 4 Details, PlayStation VR's Place in the Virtual Reality Wars & Is The Division Light On Content?

Brent, Ben, Bender, and Frankie get together once again to talk the latest and greatest in the world of gaming on Episode 63 of the Short Pause Gaming Podcast! Topics this week include:

  • Gears of War 4 Revealed - Gears of War 4 is the Game Informer cover story this month, and our first concrete details about the game are starting to be revealed. Marcus Fenix's son JD is the star, Del replaces Dom, and a new female character adds a third protagonist to the mix. The screenshots are beautiful and the storyline and setting appear to be friendly to both series newcomers and veterans alike. Is Gears of War 4 destined to return the series to its rightful place among the best of Microsoft's pantheon of exclusives?
  • Microsoft Cancels Fable Legends and Shutters Lionhead - Lionhead Studios, the legendary game development house once presided over by Peter Molyneux and responsible for games like Black and White and Fable, is no more. Fable Legends, the long in-development, dungeon crawling take on the fabled RPG series has been shelved, and Microsoft has decided to close both Lionhead and underrated developer Press Play Studios in the process. What do these closures mean for the future of Xbox, and what can they further tell us about the path that Microsoft is taking with their video game business?
  • Sniper Elite IV is Announced - It's been rumored for a few weeks, but developer Rebellion has finally pulled the curtain back on Sniper Elite IV, and it's coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC later this year. Will this latest iteration take the niche franchise to new next-gen heights?
  • February's NPD - PS4 remains on the top of the hardware heap, and, in somewhat of a surprise revelation, Far Cry Primal takes the top spot on the software charts in February's edition of the NPD numbers. With Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 unable to chart during its launch month, does EA need to re-evaluate the way they market and/or design the Garden Warfare series?
  • PlayStation VR Talk - Sony had some interesting things to say about PlayStation VR this past week, and it sounds more and more like this thing is going to come in at a price significantly cheaper than what Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive are going to cost. Is this the week we finally see the unveiling of the PSVR price and release date?
  • Plus, this week's new releases and much, much MORE!
