Monday Night Indie Spotlight Special #100: Bleed 2 | PS4 Gameplay
Monday night is indie night too! This week, on a special Monday night edition of the Tuesday Night Indie Spotlight, I (@piccolo930) fired up an early preview of developer Ian "Bootdisk Revolution" Campbell's high-octane 2D action-platformer, Bleed 2.
This game is awesome! I just love the style of Bleed 2. From the lightning fast gunplay and platforming, to the slow motion bullet time, projectile reflecting katana attacks, and fully controllable triple jump, Bleed 2 oozes charisma and magnetism through its gameplay. It feels great to play with the controller in your hands. Everything is so fast and fluid that once you start playing, you don't want to stop. Bleed 2 comfortably builds on what made Bleed great. The relentless shooting action and fun platforming of the first game return here with the addition of a triple jump and projectile reflect that nicely spice up the gameplay. I particularly enjoyed the subtle hint of strategy that came into play when figuring out which projectiles to reflect. Boss battles remain a huge part of the experience, and they're as imaginative and as fun as ever here. While the game can be "beaten" in around an hour, the true Bleed 2 experience revolves around mastering the game's action-packed levels and securing an SSS-rank in each of them, adding loads of challenging replayability to the overall package. When you couple all of this with one of the best game soundtracks I've heard in a long time (seriously, this thing shreds!), you've got a great side-scrolling experience that fans of the genre owe it to themselves to check out. If you've yet to check out Bleed 2 for yourself, take a look at the video and see what it's all about!
If you have played Bleed 2, let us know what you think about it in the comments below, and be sure to watch the (normally) Tuesday Night Indie Spotlight live, every Tuesday at 10pm EST on our YouTube channel!
Special thanks to publisher Digerati Distribution & Marketing for suppling us with a digital copy of Bleed 2 to stream on the show. Bleed 2 is available now on PS4 and PC, and it arrives on the Xbox One on Friday!
