Yesterday, during the Sony Gamescom press conference, there was a snippet dedicated to a horror game being developed by "7780s Studio" known as P.T.. It was announced that a demo for this game would be available to download from the PlayStation Store, and that it was more of an "interactive teaser trailer" that you can play through. Seeing as I am the resident horror fanatic here at Short Pause, I was more than happy to dive into this "demo" from a completely unknown developer. As it turns out, after I made my way through the absolutely terrifying experience that is P.T., I was greeted with another trailer that unveils what appears to be the next installment in the Silent Hill franchise. As if that wasn't enough to make many a gamer giddy with glee, the trailer also reveals that both Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear franchise) and Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy 2, Pan's Labyrinth) will be the two creative minds behind this new adaptation, affectionately known as Silent Hills, while Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead TV series) will be the game's lead actor.
I decided to live stream and record my very first play session of P.T.. It took me around 3 hours to complete it, simply because it appears it's a bit of a trigger hunt when it comes to progressing through the narrative. I decided to put together a video from the footage, but in an effort to avoid spoilers, it's only of the first 10 minutes or so. I highly suggest listening with your headphones on, because the atmosphere and sound featured are spine-tinglingly good! Enjoy!
Have you tried out P.T. yet? If so, were you able to finish it? We noticed some folks on Twitter were too scared to even finish the demo! Lastly, now that we know that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are heading up this latest installment, do you feel confident the next Silent Hill could be the best in the series? Let us know in the comments below!
