This morning, Futurlab announced that its games have been downloaded over a million times from the PlayStation Store in Europe alone. Considering how awesome we thought their recent release Velocity 2X was, this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to anybody. Due to the success of Velocity 2X and their other games, it appears Futurlab is looking to bolster its workforce by two in an effort to prepare for their next exciting project. I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone else here at Short Pause when I say that we are anxiously awaiting to see what amazing game Futurlab has lined up next! Below is the official statement from Futurlab.
Official Press Release:
October 8th, 2014
Following the successful launch of Velocity 2X on PS4 and PS Vita, FuturLab has announced today that its games have been downloaded over a million times from PlayStation Store in Europe alone.
James Marsden, FuturLab’s Managing Director said:
When we embarked on our first title for PSP Minis, the only advice we were given was that as a small team we were on the wrong platform, but I couldn’t accept that. By producing a stream of nine critically acclaimed games in the space of four years, this milestone shows that small teams with talent, ambition and commitment can build IP and successful businesses within the PlayStation ecosystem.
Kirsty Rigden, FuturLab's Operations Director added:
“We’re absolutely delighted by the success of Velocity 2X, and now eager to get cracking on our next exciting project! We need two new team members to help; a network programmer and an experienced artist. Candidates should check out our jobs page for more information!”
